Felpro valve cover gasket?

Has anyone tried this yet?

FEL-PRO VS50867R http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...67R_0520234357

Felpro is one of the most trusted names in gaskets and BMW's always ends up leaking, so I'm wondering if this would be a good choice in replacing my VCG.

If I was working with an American car I wouldn't even hesitate.

I just picked it up and am waiting for the engine to cool a bit. I think I'll do my oil filter housing today as well. I just hope nothing breaks or I'll have to wait until Monday to finish it.

I had to do my oil filter housing gasket twice.
Cause it was and is a poor design.

Go pickup permetek ultra copper.
Rub it all over the gasket.
Then seat the gasket in grove.
Then apply a small thin bead on top of the gasket.

Mount it.... Thumb tighten all three bolts.....hard as you can.
Like 10lbs. /ft.
Then allow about 20 min to an hour to cure a bit, depending n temperature.

Then torque to spec.
Don't start car for at least full cure time.

Will never leak again.

I wish I would have gotten on here to see your post before starting. I guess I'll do that next time.

So I got into it a bit and realized that I don't have a drop of oil coming from the valve cover. So BMW lied to me...great.

I switched into OFH gasket mode.

I can't install the upper radiator hose now. The o-ring is so stretched out that it won't fit inside properly anymore. Of course I can't find a suitable one from any of the parts stores. I found one the same thickness, but too big diameter. I found one the right diameter, but too thin. I tried to use two of them, but it sprayed coolant out when I started it up.

Any idea if I can get the o-ring from BMW or do I have to buy the entire radiator hose?
