M3 Cluster retrofit in Sydney??
Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me if someone in Sydney (or Wollongong) is able to fit and code an M3 cluster into my 335i so it works 100%? If I was in Melb, Id hit up vtl, but thats a bit of a drive for me lol. Cheers. |

If you want the VIN changed on the memory chip I can do that for you.
DR-JEKL mailed me his cluster and I desoldered/updated his VIN and sent it back to him. You would still need to find someone local who will do the coding and re calibrate the dials though.

Yeah I saw that car as well. Hes selling the 3.15 ratio LSD rear diff as well, although not a bargain if you had to buy the sideshafts and propshafts separately

Yeah I did, but i saw it through facebook
Also bought the complete steering wheel, and all suspension arms and sway bars front and rear and the engine cowl. He wanted $3K for the complete rear cradle, but too much of a hassle for me to fit. Its only my daily lol. |

They called "Tachoscheibe"
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tachosche...MAAOSw~bFWPc9S Expensive, I bought a 1M style gauge face off ebay and ended up nagging a guy in Poland to ship it to me. Cost less than $100 although I haven't fitted it yet. Heres something cheaper, but you'll have to nag him to ship to aus http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tachosche...-/311129692520

Did you happen to get the adjustable redline and the shift lights to work as well?

Dynamic redline works, shiftlight will not work. I think they need the S65 DME or the M3 DCT modules to send a special canbus message to get them to light up.

I had a thought about this and the only ways I think of that would work are: Run a canbus sniffer on an M3 DCT and log a pull to redline. Then put a little custom canbus device to send the messages to the cluster when the rpms rise. Put a little daughter board on the M3 cluster itself to talk to the shift register that drives the shift lights. Then sens the RPM by monitoring the canbus, which should be easy to wire since the cluster already has a connection for it.

lol short answer it would require a lot of time to R&D the shift light mod. Personally if it was my own car i'd go to the effort cos its a cool thing to have, but certainly not worth it if you had to pay someone to develop it for you.
