iPhone music streaming
Hi everyone, was wondering if it's possible to stream music from my iPhone in the car. My car has I-drive and the BT function that allows me to pick up calls and everything so am assuming that it shouldn't be an issue to play music via BT as well. Thinking that because it allows me to pick up calls from other apps as well not just normal calls

If you don't see it as an option in multimedia or external devices on your i-drive, then no you can't.
A2DP Bluetooth music streaming is different to handsfree. However it can be retrofitted (which i've done), which involves changing the combox unit and some coding. |

Was it expensive to retrofit? I'll get home to check if I have those options.

You might need to enable it. For some reason it will sometimes stop working on mine and I need to go and tick it back on.
Go to CD/Multimedia Bluetooth Hover over your phone and press option on iDrive controller Scroll down to Configure Device Make sure Audio is ticked If it's not there you prob can't do it. |

Likely not, I think you need hardware and coding as _ink has suggested.

I originally was using a receiver, which was OK for most parts... then it started playing up and bought another one and just got fed up!

What brand receiver did you buy? Yeah if I bought the receiver twice it'll probably be the same price as a retrofit if it's just $400

https://www.newpotatotech.com/TUNELI...link_auto.html Awesome reviews, and worked great when it did - just didn't last long.. So $200 down the drain and i was like, F*ck it! Do it properly now, and get track info, steering controls etc.. |

Check out this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=362709 Not entirely sure on the combox part number for the 3 series. But here's the harness you'll also need: http://bimmerretrofit.com/store/inde...&product_id=73 This was a really helpful guide for me: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=772784 |
