Does the Pro Nav on the F30 LCI give you free map updates? Are they over the air?

I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

Not free, you have to pay.

Ironically if you have the non OTA updates then you can upgrade yourself for free.

I was just told by the BMW genius line that my US 340i gets free updates every 3 months.

Does it continue for free after the typical 3 year period?

All the other services (e.g. RTTI/remote etc) have to be paid for after 3 years, at something in the region of £120/year.

I believe it is only of a set period to do for free . I think the first three years are free. I have no idea on the costs after that.

In the US, if you have the NBT_EVO system in 2016my+, updates are free for 4 years and automatically update OTA. You must register on BMW Connected, and choose a region on the system in the car. Just look for NBT_EVO on the NAV firmware screen. Some 2016's have it (2,3,4 Series), but some other models are still using the non EVO firmware.
