any place cheaper than 500au 2/ o2 sensor
I am going to buy new o2 sensors pre cats.
I'm pretty sure you can buy bank 1 o2 sensor for both banks. As they are cheaper and the only difference is the cable length. Has anyone recently bought a cheaper set then 500au delivered? |

When on amazon.com you can click a filter/option box international, this then filters all the items you're searching for by the sellers or amazon itself that can be shipped to Australia.

I was advised against using the same part for both banks.
The bosch part is not that expensive, so why cut corners? The pre-cat sensors are the most important. |

They're the same sensor albeit different colour sheath and shorter cable length? Back when I needed O2 sensors the shorter bmw specific O2 sensor was significantly more expensive (by memory $50+ more for) I've had my two 17098 O2 sensors working fine for 2.5 years |

Something to do with the cable length potentially causing slightly different readings for the sensor.
In my experience, lengths of copper wire usually have such low resistance that it would be negligible difference but at the time I believe my parts were similar price so I just bought the correct numbers. I bought through eBay when the US dollar was cheap. I think both to my door were under $400. |

I'm more mechanically inclined than electrical, but resistance would be more likely influenced by diameter of the cable more so then the length wouldn't it? (were talking an extra 150mm or so not metres of extra cable) If I apply that logic to a hydraulic setup if you had 1200 psi in the line, 150mm down further its still going to be 1200psi (providing there are no restrictions etc and similiar sized piping etc.) Yeah fair enough, would be interesting to know what the price difference is today |

As someone who develops electronic products I can say that the cable length won't make any difference. There would be no voltage drop over this cable as this is a small electrical signal and there is hardly any current flowing.
You would only get a voltage drop if theres a decent current flowing (ie hundreds of milliamps). An O2 sensor produces tiny amount of current so the length of the cable won't matter.

I seen a few threads saying that the 17098 works for both banks and no need to pay extra for the shorter o2.
