Just this evening, my 335 decided to drip quite a bit of oil as I backed out of my driveway. My dad noticed this as I was pulling away.
It didn't feel like engine oil, it was thinner, not power steering as it was too dark. I suspect it's gearbox oil. When I shut the car off there's no dripping. Once the car is on and if I reverse away slowly it will drip. The drips were as close as 2cm from each other. Has this happened to anyone? It was too dark to jack the car up and remove trays to see underneath. I read the dct gearbox oil pan gaskets go and I wonder if this is the case. Anyway, should I flatbed it for repairs or chance driving it to mechanic/dealership which is about 30kms away. Any recommendations for BMW workshops in Perth apart from Auto Classic located in the city or South of the river? |

N9t sure about DCT, but the regular auto box (zf 6 speed) oil is red/pink and looks similar to normal power steering fluid used in most cars (although this car uses chf11 for power steering, which is green I believe).
For work shops, I use ramp auto group, but they are north of the river in malaga. |

CHF11S is a dark green colour. Power steering would be under pressure when the car was on, and could possibly stop leaking when the car is switched off. But you would think the residual pressure in the system would make the leak continue.

Did you try to get any visuals before the tow?

The leak is coming from the upper control arm. Apparently it's fluid filled in the bushings and with age they leak. The M3 arm has solid bushes. May have to ugrade to this depending on price.

Definitely do the upgraded arms.. Go with the TRW branded ones who manufacture the M3 arms, they just scrape away the M3 logo's! lol I have these, and the best mod i've done from a handling perspective! |

Now I want Dinan camber plates to increase it up to -2 degrees. Sock, you also need to get rid of the stock subframe bushings and get an LSD haha

Ah I meant that I am getting wear on the outside shoulder during hard cornering due to insufficient camber. Outside edge of the tyres would eventually get destroyed at the track lol. Not scrubbing on the guards form lowered suspension.
