I had the Autobrite one for years and changed my pressure washer recently from Karcher to Nilfisk. As the foam lance was leaking a bit I decided to replace it rather than just change the connector. Looked at loads on the internet ranging from £20 to £45.
In the end I went for one from a company here in N Ireland on Ebay, cost about £25 from memory including delivery and its excellent. Almost identical to the Autobrite one I had, works exactly the same and seems every bit as strong and well built. Can dig out the details of needed and from my experience there is no need to overpay. They are very simple tools and keeping the gauze filter reasonably clean is the only maintenance needed. I give mine plenty of use as wash at least 3 cars a week and foam each twice each wash. |

He will be talking about the little gauze filter in them, it's a real pain to get to but if you run clean water through the lance after foaming it should be fine. I changed mine after about 7 or 8 years and even then it was only slightly blocked.
I'm not too good at posting eBay links, item number 231404993231 and it was 24.95 posted. Normally post is second class but as I was ordering a few days before Chritmas they agreed to send first class for no extra cost which was very good of them. Great item and honestly no difference in performance to the dearer lance I had. |

Any suggestions for the snow foam itself? Am I right in saying that as long as its pH neutral it'll be fine?

Mine blocks up nearly every 6 months even though I throughly run cold water through it after every use. I just soak the filter in limescale remover and it's like new after I put it back in. Just a bit of a pain, but the lance is good. Although I'm not completely sold on the snow foaming process. |

I have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pressure-W...-/271367371334 and use it with this: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washin.../prod_500.html and am pretty pleased with the results. Certainly a great deal of fun and I get tonnes of foam out of the two.

I am - for a couple of months I only ever had time to give it a quick snow foam and blast off with the pressure washer. Amazing how clean the car comes up just doing that, you'd be hard pressed to tell from anything more than a couple of metres away that it hadn't had a proper wash.
