Recommended low dust brake pads?
The stock OEM brake pads produce so much dust, I need to keep cleaning my wheels every 4 days. It's a joke!
What brand of low dust/dustless brake pads everyone is using? And where do I buy it from in Melbourne? Preferably something that won't jeopardise braking performance too much. Thanks in advance

Ceramic pads are what you want.
Akebono are popular also the new Hawk HPS 5.0 are getting great reviews. Last edited by EB89; 01-21-2016 at 11:49 PM.. |

Hows the dust on the Akebonos?
You can get pads from BMRAW.com, give them a call. Or source them yourself from over seas

About to buy these now, they're going in my cousin's 2011 E90 LCI 325i.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291662865585 I found out that Akebono are the most widely available on the market, and they're only $117 including shipping from the US. The car won't be seeing track or any hard braking abuse... etc. I'll source the sensors, brake cleaner and paste locally and do the job for her next week or something. Thanks for the advice. |

The rears were replaced with OE BMW pads less than 2,000km ago, so we'll leave them for now and just replace the fronts with Akebono for now.
The rears don't produce as much dust as the fronts anyway, because the fronts do most of the braking... etc. So hopefully the car won't look funny with clean rims at the front and dusty rims at the back lol |

My car can last close to over a month before significant brake dust makes the front wheels look black and I do about 500-600km a week. |

Akebono
These stop just as good as OEM and have a more linear bite. Plus I get ZERO brake dust

I'm about to buy Akebono pads aswell.
Is it recommended to change the sensors at the same time even if they haven't triggered the warning or can they be reused? Also what are the part numbers for the sensors anyway just incase and best place to buy them Thanks |
