BMW M2 Demo car

My dealer is offering me the demo car as it will be the first car entering the dealer and I am first on the list. Would you recommend me take this car or wait for the first allocation of a production car? Thanks!

If you're getting a discount or really want it ASAP then sure. It's probably not going to have a ton of miles and it will be under warranty. Make sure to look it over carefully though.

They are offering the HEA car, which will sit in the showroom for a day or two and then its yours. If its specced how you want it, go for it.

Most #1 people are getting the HEA car, myself included. You wont be able to get a discount. I would get the car as long as its the specs you want. I lucked out and it was the exact set up I wanted. Some dealer cars can be changed and some cant. Why wouldn't you want to get your car way before everyone else.

Yeah thats what happened to me. They let me spec it the way I wanted. Just wondering about it being one of the first cars down the production line. Meaning maybe it will have more issues than a car that is later in the production line?

That wouldn't matter. They have made a bunch of them already. If there were any issues it would've been caught.

If you don't want people messing with it at the dealership just talk to them and tell them you don't want it to stay. A lot of them are cool and wont make you wait at all and give it to you immediately. The people who are buying this car are not waiting for a test drive unless they plan to buy it in 2018.

Yeah good point. And the dealer said as soon as it gets in it is mine, just got to make sure no one gets in and out of the car while its at the dealer...

Or take delivery at the performance center like I'm doing. Then even the mechanics at the dealer won't be able to take it for a joy ride.

You can ask that it not even be placed in the showroom. We got the first Macan and it was used in the big black tie premier with 3 others. They unloaded them all in front of the crowd and ours was driven by the dealer into the back and not touched by anyone until we took delivery a few days later.

Well, I`m getting a HEA car myself, it is very simple IMHO.

1 Want to have an early M2, drive quickly, there is no other choice
2 If you have no hurries, well order now, drive within 1 year from now.

I didn`t want to wait to long myself........

What about options? Do you think that there will be more options available to the production cars vs. the demo?

Thanks

And that will be with the 3yr/36 maintenance.

Which is... Less than desirable.

The US cars being ordered now are a mix of Feb, Mar, and Apr builds. We got a while to go before allocations dry up for 2016.

Dealer gets a few allocations per month, and list only had 3 total people on it 3rd week in Jan. I made it 4. No one wanted the black launch car.

It was DCT, and I did post here about its availability when it was offered. That car is most likely sold by now, but I'll ask tomorrow.

Not in my case!

I was told I could spec the demo car as I liked, so I did, I specked it the way I liked and wanted it.
