If BMW added the option to select a Moonroof in the US will you buy, verses not buy due to no choice at all ?

Nope. Would've did the delete if it was standard.obviously cf would've been the best. I have never used my sunroofs on any of my cars.

No I would not option it with a moonroof. Moon roofs decrease head room, create rattles, they have higher center of gravity, heavier, and the overall car looks worse with a sunroof.

I realize it isn't the purist thing to say, but I really love having a moonroof and will miss it if I cannot option one on an M2. Not a deal breaker, but if it is offered by the time I am able to order, I will go for it.

I do not want a sunroof. Don't like them. Never did.

Talk to your dealership and see if they know of a shop that can install one. We had that done on a car once and it turned out great. The M2 isn't a collectable car so you wouldn't be ruining anything.

No. If it was standard and actually cost money to remove I would do that...as long as the cost was in reason. Not because I'm ///M purist, I just don't like or need a moonroof.

I'm rather used to not having a sunroof. I'd probably delete it if it was available, my brother did that with his m235i.

This is pretty ridiculous, in my opinion. If a compact sports car that's priced reasonably enough considering its larger siblings and the amount of features that come standard on it isn't sufficient, I'd say that folks should probably look elsewhere (i.e., MB/Audi/Lexus) for their alternatives.

With that said, a moonroof being a deal breaker on a performance car speaks to the demographic who are actually considering purchasing it. Obviously it is a luxury, but nowhere near important enough to nix the prospect of buying it entirely. C'mon now.

Should be offered or so you'd think...

Please tell us what the hell MB/AUDI or even Lexus lol offers in this segment or price point.

Wait for it... Nothing!

Sad, but true /

I made no intention of making a parallel with pricing to available features in relation to other automakers, since that's not really what this thread was about in the first place, IIRC.

MB/Audi/Lexus simply offer nothing like this.

Not all cars are boring.

This is very true. Of course, they are probably going to try, now [again].

And I am pretty sure the M2 won't be that boring. Hopefully.

This. I will miss the roof too.

I will miss the warm sun on my face on days I am leisurely strolling through our metro parks. Also, I like to have the vent open for fresh air.

I would have liked to have a sunroof on my M2 but in my case even if that option become available, my order is already placed, so it would be too late to add it I guess. But we are on February 1st and I still don't have a production number for my M2...

The other M cars can be purchased with a sunroof and in Europe the M2 has a sunroof option. They should have given US buyers the option also. In moderate climates the sunroof can sometimes be used instead of the air conditioner which drains real horsepower way more than the few extra pounds the sunroof adds to the car. If you really want a no frills sports car, why not take out the air conditioning system and compressor, that will save a lot of weight.

I'm a bit surprised it doesn't have the option since all the other M cars do. I even remember seeing many test mules with a moonroof. If there was an option it would be tough to decide. On one hand I like having less weight, less center of gravity, blah blah blah, etc. On the other hand I love having a moonroof even though I almost never open it. I enjoy leaving the shade open and letting the sunlight pour into the cabin and opening it once in a while.
