My M4 Convertible with BBS FI-Rs and BBK

Hi all,

Following the part out of my M3 convertible that was Harrop charged and had all the bells and whistles, I decided to move onto the new platform.

Deep down it was hard to move to the new platform as I loved the V8 and blower whine. The M4 has hardly broken in and just shy of 4 months old, some new items have been installed which isn’t too dissimilar to my E93.

Introducing to you my F83 M4 convertible, in the same colour – Alpine White (should have chosen Mineral White ).

INTERIOR

• OEM M Performance electronic Alcantara steering wheel
• OEM M Performance carbon gear selector
• OEM M Performance carbon gear surround

EXTERIOR

• OEM M Performance carbon mirror covers
• OEM M Performance carbon front splitters
• OEM M Performance front lip
• OEM M Performance front black grills
• OEM M Performance side black gills
• OEM M Performance side rocker covers
• OEM M Performance carbon rear diffuser
• OEM M Performance exhaust system
• OEM M Performance carbon fibre exhaust tips

WHEELS / BRAKES / SUSPENSION

• BBS FI-R wheels - Platinum Silver (incredibly light, I couldn’t believe it!)
- Front: 20 x 9.5” (Michelin Pilot Super Sports 275/30/20)
- Rear: 20 x 10.5” (Michelin Pilot Super Sports 295/30/20)
- I was considering the HRE P101’s, but I don’t think I went wrong with these. Maybe another set of wheels is on the cards.

• Brembo GT Big Brake Kit - Yellow
- Front 380mm x 34mm, cross drilled
- Rear 380mm x 28mm, cross drilled

• Suspension – KW Height Adjustable
- Front, dropped approximately Ύ inch
- Rear, dropped approximately 1 inch
- Factory EDC maintained which is great
- Ride quality is very similar to OEM

*** Might be parting the car in the next couple of months and moving it on, however may be doing the following mods to enjoy it a little bit more before it goes.

- JB4
- Kohlenstoff rear diffuser
- Wait for the GTS lights (don’t think it will fit…)
- Drop the car a tad little bit more (open to comments)
- OEM M Performance pedals
- Air intake (Either Eventuri or MSR)
- A proper professional detail

*** more photos to follow when I get a chance.

Looks great - but why would you want to get rid of it so soon?
You could go a bit lower in the front if you aren't finding that it's scraping too much when driving.

Same query for the old one. Why part them out?
Like the wheels/stance.

I don't keep my cars for very long. Don't get me wrong, while it has been a great car it's not a V8 that I do prefer more. If the JB4 transforms the car I may keep it for that little longer.

If the old M3 V8 was in this chassis, it would be a keeper for that much longer.

I want to lower the front a little more, but I just barely get into my driveway even on an angle.

Great looking ride OP! You mention ride quality is similar to OEM. Do you detect any more harshness with the 20 inch wheels/tires compared to the 19 inch ones?

I'm still on the fence about getting one with the competition package since it seems only available with 20 inch rollers.

Any expanded feed back is welcome.

M.

Nice setup!

Do you know the offsets on those wheels?

19s are indeed more comfortable. You would expect the ride to be more firm with 20s considering the profile of the tyre is 30.

The ride quality was more of a comparison between stock suspension and the KW HAS.

Absolutely impressive upgrades! Congrats!
No V8, but it performs better than some of its V8 rivals

Very Nice. Did you get the BBS in OZ or had to ship them in?

Thanks mate. Got them direct from the states. Spoke to BBS Aus and they confirmed it was the only set in Australia. There isn't a market for people here in OZ that want to spend big coin on the rims. Super light and quite impressive.

Trying to lock in a deal on a new car at the moment. Will be parting the car or trading as is. Depends how the almighty dollar ends up in either deal.

Heck, I might even mount the wheels on the wall, they are like a work of art!

You spent a lot of coin on this beauty and you are already planning to sell it? Must be something really good planned after this?
