Any feedback on BMW bodyshop?

Some oblivious moron hit my parked car at Sainsbury's car park a few days ago and scratched my front bumper (passenger's side). They must've turned early before coming out of the parking bay. Needless to say, they didn't stop and nor did they leave a note. Anyway...

I'm taking the car to my local BMW bodyshop on Monday for a "small repair". Going to cost £180 and will take a day or two. Courtesy car included.

This is the very first scratch on my car in over 15 years of driving. I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with the BMW bodyshop? Will it be visible after the repair or is it going to be seamless? Any risk of it peeling off after a while? Will the heat treatment in the oven damage any electricals, etc.?

I've had a couple of smart repairs done from my local BMW bodyshop (Sytner, Oldbury, West Midlands). Someone scraped my F10 rear bumper when I first had it and then after getting this fixed someone scraped the front bumper a couple of months later.

Cost wise I paid about the same as they are charging you and the work was immaculate, can't tell it has been painted. I have also had smart repairs done privately on other vehicles with mixed results, so now I pay the premium and get it done from the dealer. In terms of longevity not had any issues yet with paint quality/finish

Awesome. That was the biggest worry.

For what it's worth... Got my car back yesterday. It's perfectly seamless and impossible to tell it's been repaired. It was ready within 24hrs.

I pick mine up today from it's 2.5 week repair job from the accident. Unfortunately, mine was a little bit more than just a bumper ding. Glad you got your car back so soon and are pleased with the work.

Seen your photos. Glad you're getting your car back sooner than expected. Mine was just a scratch and peeled off paint, about 1x2 inches, with black plastic bumper showing underneath. No damage to the parking sensor or metal bodywork.

Got a Nissan Micra loaner for the day (no Mustang convertible for me)!!! Horrifying car. Can't imagine how any sane person would do more than 50mph in it. Felt like I was in a tumble dryer!! "Under warranty" works will get a BMW or Mini. My insurer normally provides a Ford Mondeo. This cost less than my insurance excess, so I was paying out of my own pocket. Rental option was just a pesky Micra. The adrenaline rush was fantastic though!
