M2 available at MSRP

Having a tire changed on my X5M at my local dealer and was told by me CA that they have a LBB M2 (manual, exec pack) coming in about a week from today. They're offering it at MSRP. PM if you want my CA's contact info.

Just talked with the CA - this car looks to have all the M performance parts on it. I'll be getting a quote soon and will update the thread with what I hear. If it has a bunch of M parts added, I'll most likely be backing out!

This car does in fact have most of the M performance parts installed. Here is a picture of build. Hopefully one of you can scoop this up!

The front and rear aero kits ($2800) are total waste of money on top of front wings looking so f*cking weird and ugly.

What does the carbon fiber and alcantara trim package, for over $1000, consist of on an MT car? Doesn't the car come stock with a bunch of carbon fiber? It can't be just the emergency brake and boot. That would be ridiculous even for BMW.

Where's the steering wheel and the CF spoiler? Those are two things I might actually consider, as opposed to most of this other stuff...

Where's the steering wheel? That's one of the few truly cool things on offer in my view.
Alcantara trim is just the regular 2-series trim, pointless on the M2 that has CF trim already. The steering wheel is released in June.

So somebody is going to pay over one grand for a little alcantara trim in addition to the already existing CF, with no more CF, for his thousand bucks? That is something else...

Not a fan of dealers that run up the price of their cars by loading them up with parts. They added 10k to the price of the car, no wonder they are willing to let it go for MSRP.

Feels far less reprehensible than charging more than MSRP (for a car w/o accessories)... but agree, it was certainly ordered this way to grow their margins (which is their prerogative).

Frankly, I find the greater shame to be that they didn't go all the way and add the suspension and MPE.

When you account for labor, I suspect (if you were planning on adding all of these parts, and didn't care to store/sell the OE parts) that this isn't a terrible deal.

I agree, given how far they went they should have gone all the way. At least by adding this content they add some value versus the game that some dealers are playing by adding market adjustments.

It wouldn't have been bad if they didn't add those stupid winglets! I hate those things and am still pissed they didn't offer us a real lip and side lips like they do on every other car they make.

The winglets look bloody awful.....are they supposed to make it faster? What a load of bollocks. overpriced crap. The only things I would consider for my MG car are the black grills and possibly the rear spoiler.......

Are there any good aftermarket firms making proper front splitters yet?

Yep. They've got a lot more profit in it now as opposed to a measly 5K "market adjustment "

They'd make more by just hitting you with the market adjustment.

This just squeezes all the profit that can without people kicking and screaming about paying over sticker. This way you can pay list and the dealer can make more than they would on a bare car without having to ask over blatantly asking over MSRP.

This +1

Presumably they're paying something for these parts- market adjustments (if they clear) are costless.

Port installed accessories are invoiced and MSRP'd just like factory options. Dealer has no way to adjust extra margin on them as the prices are set from the port and reflected in the Monroney. There's not a ton of markup on them actually. It's just taking what they can get without being deliberate about it.

If the car arrived at the dealer bare and then they did dealer installed on the exact same parts then very likely you would see a vastly different price on those accessories.
