Waiting for the new car...but started buying bits already
Well it was inevitable really.
Despite ordering 5 weeks ago, and despite still not having a confirmed build date, I had to quell my new-car thirst with a purchase. And good old Ebay certainly came up trumps with this mint (and I do mean mint) set of winter 405M wheels with Pirelli Sotto Zero tyres. Glad I didn't pay the £2,180 the dealer wanted!!! |

I got them for £820 which I consider is a (very) good deal. The wheels do not have any marks or damage, inside or out, and the tyres have circa 6-7mm of tread on them. Well pleased

I've spent so much money already on buying parts for a car that I don't have yet; detailing bits, rear floor mat, child seat base protector, etc.

these are forged rims and are lighter(9.2kg vs 12.2kg of 400m). I put michelin pilot sport 4 on them and run 38psi all round. compared to the 400m staggered set up with run crap, the overall unsprung weight reduction of 21kg makes quite an improvement in handling, throttle response, acceleration and braking distance.

I really like the look of these for winter wheels. Might start trawling eBay to get some during the cheaper summer months.

Is it really THAT bad driving a 3 series in winter? I ran a TVR for a couple of years and while I do remember having great fun going sideways out of my dads estate in the snow once (and that was fun!), I survived the winters. Surely a modern rwd car is still driveable!

Same, nothing as big as a set of winters yet but mats to go under the baby seat, detailing equipment, key fob, phone mount, etc

Also due to the larger sipes they are better at clearing water than summer tyres. Useful during a British winter (Spring/summer/autumn). |
