Another Victim

Dammit, I did not think it would happen to me although i do see alot of threads stating issues with RFT. I got a damm bubble about 1/2 of a golf ball size, popping out on the exterior side of the front left tire. sorry just ranting.

not a big deal, take it to the dealer and you should get 2 new tyres. Make sure they replace both sides.

Damn that sucks man. What happened? Did you hit a pothole?

Yeah, if you got the tire insurance, they'll definitely replace them for ya.

If you do not have the insurance, Im pretty sure bubbles are not covered.

I had to replace a tire with my E90 when it had a blowout (yes... a blowout with a RF tire)... Took 3 days and $400+ to get a new tire.

Good idea BMW... We do NOT need a spare

Just get a set of non-RF tires... You will be much happier anyway...

Ok, so I am bringing in my car to have the bubbled tire replace and using my tire insurance which i had purchased. I was wondering if they will replace both front tires or just the bad one? I got 6K miles on these tires already. shit if they just replaced one side then it may not run evenly.

i would absolutely ask for a pair and just keep the good one as a spare.

They won't replace the pair, only the tire in question. They'd sooner try to push you to buy a matching RFT if the differences in tread are too noticeable.

Just take it to the stealership and they should replace it without fuss.

If they dont replace both tires i m going to purposely put a nail on the other side and then have them replace it.

I hear so many stories with stock tires bubbling up...torkcm had one on his car too, but we swapped tires off my old 335i, and peter had 2...

Might not have been caused by a pothole. I hit one so hard a few months back that it broke my headlight! Had to have the whole assembly replaced, under warranty of course. Both drivers side wheels have marks where the sidewall impacted them. No bubbles or vibrations and I hit this hole at 70 mph. Sounds like defective rubber to me.

I think that's a great idea! So good that I ordered mine last week. Don't let that tax refund deter you. I'm self employed and pay in every year - a lot. Some things you just shouldn't do without!
