New owners, how much clearance is there?

Asking someone who has already taken delivery. I'd like to put 265s in front and 285s in the rear on stock wheels. This will give me more gription for less $s (simply buy 285s and take the stock 265s and mount them in front) and also give me better protection for the wheels. Can you measure clearance between:

The front strut and the wheel/tire.
Outer edge of the wheel/tire to inner edge of the front fender.
Rear shock and the wheel/tire.
Outer edge of the wheel/tire to inner edge of the rear fender.

Picking my car up in 2 weeks as the performance center!

These tires shouldnt hit the suspension since it shares it with the M4. I'm worried about the liners and fender.

Yep. That why I want some actual measurements.

There is big lip on the front fenders that I was checking out this weekend on the M2 that showed up at my dealer.

Anyone care to make these measurements and post?

I'd be shocked if you go two size up front and rear and don't run into any rubbing. I like the idea though, I'm rooting for ya!

I'll order wheels with custom offsets if required. I squeezed 255/35 on the front of my 1 er with no fender work or crazy suspension mods. Had it down to the mm though with offset.

Looked under the car last night and there is at least an inch between the rear tire and rear shock, probably more, didn't measure it. And this is to the dust cover over the shock so it has movement if it was rubbed. Tried to look at the front but it's too low to look under without lifting. Maybe I will drive up on ramps today to take a look.

Awesome. Thanks. 1 of 4 measurements done. I take a string with a nut tied to the end to measure the fender clearance holding the string to the inner fender edge. For the front you should be able to turn the wheels full lock and get the strut clearance. The struts and wheels turn as one so it works fine. No lifting the car required.

I just went out and measured the rear. It's actually closer to 1.5" to the shock dust boot. Now, if you went this close you would probably rub on the liner somewhere.

Now to the fender. I used a straight wood shim and put it on the outside of the fender then "eyeballed" it perpendicular to the ground. The edge of the tire was about even to the fender. (The rim protector portion of the PSS) If you follow the camber instead of straight up and down (nut on string method) you might have 5mm clearance ...Maybe even 8mm but I think it would give you the "flush" look...not quote hello flush though...lol!

I will do the fronts tomorrow if I have time while the kids are sleeping.

And remember, all of thsee measurements are on a stationary car.
