AFAIK, all 335i came with that auto transmission.

Hi,
Does anyone know if a second hand gearbox can be coded to my car and is it dealer only for this?

Not sure what you mean here. The TCU is on the tranny IIRC; if you're replacing with a like transmission only the VIN and tranny serial # need to be changed; pretty much anyone can do that.

Don't know what the -21 is. But a 6HP26 is the standard for the 335d and should fit.

Hi,
I was told a tranny from a different car would have to be programmed to my car, Not sure if this is correct and my 335i has a ZF6HP19 where the one I can source is a ZF6HP21 and was trying to make sure it would fit.
Thanks

Hi,
Now sourced a low mileage 6HP19 box from a 335i so do they just need to change the serial and vin number and all is good?
Thanks

May not even need to do that - might be only newer models. But should be a slam dunk.

From what I read in my research, the 6HP19 became the 6HP21 and they are interchangeable but some dealer programming may be needed.

Hi,
Before I ordered the box I got my mechanic to double check and it turns out my box is in fact a 6HP21!

Does anyone know why my transmission won't engage out of "park" after a transmission pan change and new fluid? The shifter moves freely but it won't go out of park. I did everything step by step in the DIY GUIDE. I don't understand what happened.
