Been looking at these 435 convertibles...

Any vert folks thinking of pulling the trigger? I'm pretty much done with this E93 and I have an appointment at Presige BMW in Ramsey NJ 2:30 tomorrow to get into something else.

Between the 4000$ I'm getting from BMW NA from all this hardtop bs, and having a full DINAN car at a DINAN dealership, it couldn't go that badly, could it?

I hear there is a jump in HP, among other things. Wonder if the hardtop is any better

I heard the steering difference is noticeable, and that is enough to turn me away from a car.

Oh boy...damn electronic steering shit. Man, I just can't risk going through more nonsense with this one. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Sucks, as I love the way this thing drives and sounds....sigh....

I look at the exhaust pipes and the shape of the trunk, and think it's ugly. I guess you have a N55, but when I compare the 435 to a N54 I think to myself the exhaust system is fake, and honestly I can't live with the fake Pontiac G6 muffler turned sideways with two outlets. It's so fake, which BMW was not back in 2007-2010. Ditto with the 340i. Seriously, this makes me want to keep my '07 forever, as a rememberance to what BMW once was. The 435i truly is a disappointment. Just like when I was watching Nissan to see what they were gonna come up with, and the 5th gen Maxima came out. I would keep your car, seriously. If anything, wait for a 718 Boxster S. Yes, it's 4 cyl, but they do say it's better than the current model in almost every way...

Honestly brother it might turn out to be the case that I do keep it

The only thing is I'm fairly concerned about incurring more repairs not covered by this wonderful "platinum" warranty I purchased.

Bad enough I already dropped 2200 for some tire rod and shock bullshit that I don't even remember damaging.

Consumables, they said...

As a matter fact just yesterday, after I read the email and proposal offer I was sent in my inbox, my car decided to cough up an increased battery discharge warning- which probably went away one hour later.

It was as if the car knows dude, so I must be in for some shit LOL.

Perhaps it's my P3 gauge causing the trouble, so I may just remove the damn thing and sell it.

I just have to find someone to take it off for me.

Good for you bro. Nothing better than rewarding yourself with a nice new ride. Personally I couldn't justify the 435. Asking price is rediculius and there is not much difference performance wise between what I have already. I feel the M235 is a much better option. That will be my next choice. And after all these years I come to find out that my company gets discounts on BMWs, this shall come in handy.

I just think that as enthusiasts, we know the newer cars are not necessarily better than the old...

I was sitting in my car last week doing diagnostics, and I got a battery warning though I think maybe after 40 min and it was cold....to the car's defense, a power supply is supposed to be hooked up when you are coding or even doing diagnostics. I have my original BMW battery on the floor of the garage, and when charged with a tender, the eye is green! So there is a good chance your battery issue is nothing. My wife's aunt has a '06 330i with the original battery, so that is from 8/05 or something...10+ years!

Good luck whatever you decide...

p.s. aunt's water pump went months ago....but her mileage is uber low, like low 40's....

Personally I like how the 435 looks, but after driving an n55 335i I couldn't justify paying that money to upgrade to it. I would rather use the money and upgrade to the m235i or the M2.
