So here are the installation pics. I started a new thread with a new title to make it more convenient. Before is black springs and after red springs.

Nice. Are these 2 way adjustable? You planning on running camber plates?

Yes 2 way. Not planning to run camber plates at the moment. For me this is mainly DD car. I just wanted height adjustment and the flexibility to stiffen/soften if I wanted.

But we shall see. Once you start down this track it is hard to stop with the mods.....

Not sure about that, I suspect you will just need some more suspension parts in order to increase range of adjustment. There are some posts around which talk about the factory recommended lowering settings with the MP coilovers. Standard suspension is set up flat front to rear heights, but MP is 5mm lower at front vs rear. So based on my measurements the rear is at least 15mm lower and the front at least 20mm lower. However my car had only done 8km when dealer installed. I will remeasure heights when car goes in for run-in service to see if suspension heights have settled after some running.

How do you find the coilovers compared to stock suspension? Is the ride a lot harsher and have to run the range of stiffest to softest settings?

Any reason why you choose the MP suspension over KW V3? I don't see any EDC stuff on the suspensions. So, the comfort/sport/sport+ mode doesn't actually change the settings on the suspension?

Also curious! also does it make the ride significantly more harsh?

Here in NZ compliance is very tough and if suspension is changed and not factory there is a risk that the a special inspection and 'authority card' could be required. For a daily driver this is a hassle as it requires renewal every year. It also costs $ for the renewal. Not worth the risk in my thinking so with the MP suspension tuned and tested by BMW M team and manufactured by KW, I thought just go with that. A second factor was availability - ready to go at delivery, and third - price, - was able to negotiate a discount on the part and installation (but not the car). Lastly warranty.

It is a passive system just like the factory stock suspension. 2 way, compression and rebound as well as height adjustable but all manual.

As I have said elsewhere it is definitely harder/very firm driving slowly over kerbs and speed bumps etc and initially first drive out of the dealership at delivery I was worried (albeit in reality you can wind off the shock settings- I am running recommended road settings. But at higher speeds it does smooth out and I find it fine. There is less rubber in the system but over motorway expansion joints it is not too harsh. I am happy and intend to leave the current settings alone.

Handling is completely flat at road speeds no understeer though my car is not fully run in yet, but on a couple of corners I know well, it handles good. I think the slightly nose down set up helps whereas the standard set up is level ride height front to back.

Cool, thanks. I am curious how the MP Suspension compares to KW V3, since their retail prices (without discount) aren't that far apart

The M performance coilovers look exactly like the KW V3's albeit black instead of raw stainless. I wonder if KW supplies the coilovers for M performance.

I have this setup. Yes, KW is the supplier for the Mperformance suspension. It is essentially a KW V3 built to BMW specs.

If offered the MP and KW V3 at the same price, which one to take?

I was actually able to get it cheaper than the KW V3 which sells for about $2500 USD. I paid $2000 at my dealership. The retail for the BMW performance suspension is normally about $2500 but I asked if they would price match another dealer online that was selling them for $2000 and they did. The main difference between the 2 as far as I know is the KW V3 can go a little lower on the height adjustment so if this matters to you it may sway your decision. I chose to go with the BMW suspension for 2 reasons: warranty will be intact if installed by a BMW dealer, and if I ever sell the car it can be perceived as a factory option (it was on the original invoice with the car) as opposed to modified which some buyers are weary of when buying used. Hope this helps.
