IND | BMW M Performance Carbon Interior Kit DIY
Available for purchase on our site here: http://ind-distribution.com/ind/bran...erior-trim-set Tools required: T8 Torx Bit Bondo Spreader Cutters DCT Shift Surround Step 1: Insert bondo spreader between cupholder trim and the stock DCT trim. Start to pry the console trim up to where you can grab it with your fingers. The trim will pop out easily and remove it over the shift knob. Step 2: Place the new console trim in position and snap it into place. DCT Shift Knob Step 1: The key to removal of the shift knob is the removal of the gear selector sticker. We remove this piece with a Nylon pry tool to not damage the stock knob cover. Step 2: With the emblem removed the Torx 8 screw will be exposed. Take the Torx 8 driver and remove the screw. Step 4: Now remove the cover from the shift knob and install the BMW Performance cover. Step 5: The BMW Performance cover comes with a new Torx 8 screw, but you can also utilize the old screw. After the set screw is reinstalled apply the new shift emblem. E-Brake Handle Step 1: Pull the E-brake handle off the mechanism, this will take some force. Step 2: Squeeze the upper part of the alcantara boot to release the e-brake boot from the console. As you squeeze pull up on the boot to remove it. Step 3: Pull the entire E-brake boot and handle off the mechanism. Step 4: Fold the boot inside out to expose the cable tie securing the stock handbrake handle. Cut the cable tie carefully not to damage the boot. Step 5: Install the boot onto the new E-brake handle in the reverse as you took it off. (Inside out and secure the boot with the supplied cable tie, cut the excess off) Step 6: Slide the brake handle onto the E-brake mechanism to where it clicks into place. Step 7: Reinstall the alcantara boot back into the center console by snapping it into place.

-c EDIT: hate to hijack the thread, but there's a sticky on the forum that lists ALL MP parts for the ///M2, with part numbers; I contacted my dealer, they could get the 6MT kit. It would come from Germany and take about three weeks. BTW, here is a pic of my knob

Just did this on my car. Strongly recommend sneaking couple threads under the gear selector sticker to pull it off instead of pry tool, way easier and no damage to the original parts.

Is this kit really that much of an upgrade over the stock interior?

Damn, I didn't read down far enough about the use of thread under the gear selector sticker to pull it off.
I call BS on the use of a plastic prybar tool to get it off. There is no way plastic could loosen it. I used a butter knife and of course it slightly damaged the old 1. But the carbon is on there to stay so who cares. |

I got the carbon fiber and alcantara interior kit from my dealer and my shifter/shifter plate/e-brake are NOT carbon. Did they just forget to install those? My dash near the glove box is alcantara and the door handles are carbon fiber (and bottom of the steering wheels). Did I get the wrong kit, or did the dealer forget to install the parts?
