Excited for my 2016 X1!
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to make a small introduction! Placed an order on a brand new Alpine White 2016 BMW X1, 2 months ago at BMW London (here in Ontario, Canada). I will be picking it up on Saturday and will definitely take pictures! This is going to be my family's first German car and BMW which is really exciting. I, myself am an Audi fanboy, so choosing to go with a BMW was a hard choice, but after comparing it with offerings from Audi, it was clearly ahead in terms of power, efficiency and design. I currently daily drive a 2003 Lexus IS 300 with the 5 Speed Manual and RWD LSD (which ironically I purchased from current F80 M3 Forum Member Mikster), so this is going to be quite a change, but Im hoping the X1 will provide a great driving experience in all conditions (as winters here are harsh) and prove to be somewhat reliable (not expecting toyota levels of reliability tho ). I ordered the X1 with the Sport Package, which comes with the 19" Wheels and Variable sport steering and transmission. Also couldn't leave out the "Premium Package Essential" which comes with the Panoramic Sunroof and a Heated Steering wheel which I look forward to using in the Winter. Some basic plans I have for my X1 include the following: - Straight from Dealership to my Detailer (Get Detailed in Toronto) for New Car Prep Package - Application of Xpel Paint Protection Film to Bumper, Fenders, Hood and all Sills (as I do lots of highway driving) - Coating the car with Ceramic Pro Light - Applying 20% Tints to Front Door Windows (Rears are already tinted from Factory) - Smoked Lumin-X Headlight and Tail Light Protection Film - LED Fog Lights - Gloss Black Dipped 19" Wheels (Protection from Road Rash as my Mother and Girl Friend will also be driving it) - Gloss Black the chrome bits to give an M Sport look - Tow Hook Mounted License PLate Holder (Can't stand the dealer drilling holes in the Bumper) - Do some coding to personalize the convenience features I hope to learn a lot from this forum and stay up to date with the latest news for our vehicles, as well as share my build progress! Cheers, Peter |
