I've used Sonax Full Effect and Adam's Wheel Cleaner. Think I prefer the Adam's but I have a feeling they are all fairly similar (the color-changing iron-reacting type).

I don't have the car yet, but I believe the M2 wheels are a mixture of black paint and clear coated aluminum and Adam's is safe on both. But as with every new product, it's always best to do a test spot to verify for yourself.
And if you don't have a wheel woolie, get one! The cleaner works best with agitation. |

I use Adam's Wheel Cleaner on my M2 and it works wonders. I also coat it in H20 G&G. The last time I washed I didn't have to use the wheel cleaner and just Foamed my car and agitated with my EZ Detail brush and Wheel brush and the wheels cleaned up nicely (I also used a boars hair lug nut brush for calipers/lugs/etc). I also have some Nanolex Wheel cleaner, which I haven't used yet, but I have a bunch of different products. I may try the Nanolex before summer is up as I received that in one of my mystery boxes.

I had my wheels Opti-Coated. That has been the best thing for them in keeping them clean.
But I have used only Sonax full effect since I took delivery of my M2. It only seems to turn red on the rotors. For the most part, the rims are always green.

+1 on the Sonax. I got a big jug of it like El Ban got from Amazon and it does the job - cuts through brake dust like nothing else. Plus it's "Made in Germany"

Amazon has it at about $75 and a specific seller on ebay has it for $72.. Bang for the buck!
