Opie Oils

Just a heads-up and recommendation, I recently ordered some oil from these guys

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/default.aspx?

I ordered 1 x 4ltr Castrol EDGE Turbo Diesel 0W-30

Service was very good, ordered on Thurs and oil turned-up today by courier.
Postage charges were reasonable at £5.99 for courier service.

Opie Oils priced @ £35.78
Halfrauds priced @ £43.99

Note for Viv
If you sign-up the board, we can get further discounts - more info here

And for the smart arses out there, no I'm not affiliated with Opie in any way :finger:

Wink Good find!

DF, I'll need to have a word with the admins first- if they have no problem with it, then it'll get sorted, ok.

All the best.

The admins do not know enough about the seller to allow the forum to be signed up to the board, I'm afraid.

They'd like to help, but they'd like more information about the company first.

I think they are just a little wary of potential problems associated with recommending members to external sites.

Opieoils are great.

If you are a subscriber/member of BMWLand you can get a further discount on the listed prices - someone should look at whether you can get the UK bit of E90post affiliated (noting its a US site with a little UK island on it) - I'm sure if you explained how many UK owners were here they'd be happy to sort something out. They may however insist theat members have some sort of subscription membership scheme, don't know, worth asking.

I've got nothing against them, James; it's the admins that are a little untrusting.

Is there anything you've got to show how 'trustworthy' they are?

"Is there anything you've got to show how 'trustworthy' they are?"

Only that if you look this is probably one of the only sizable UK BMW forums that isn't affliated. Show them the link - at least 6 other BMW forums are listed.

What about Fulfilled orders?

It's not necessarily a 'recommendation' from the site/board that we're after. It's affiliation of the board with Opie in order to benefit members. There's no obligation to buy or no recourse to the sites owners, much the same if anyone else has posted an Ebay link? Can't see what the big deal is myself - but then I'm not politically motivated (perhaps that's my problem in life )

If you all send MarkE90M3, one of the admins, a PM about this, then perhaps it'll help to get him to have the forum signed up to Opie?

Another option is to start a new thread in the 'Site Related Announcements' section & have UK members post their views in there, of signing up to Opie.
Last time I started a thread in there, we had the UK Off-topic section started up within half an hour.

I'd sign the forum up myself, if I could, but I can't, unfortunately.

All the best.

Viv,my family have ordered heating oil etc from them for a number of years, and they are very local to my Mother, so if you need anyone to sort something out face to face with them it will be done when I visit her. They are a very well respected West Cornwall firm. I can vouch for them 100%
Hope this helps.

Holy F*@k - £100 to deliver 8 litres to N.Ireland

That works out at £12.50 per litre!!!

I recently bought 10 litres of the same oil (0W30 Edge TD) from a German Ebay seller and had it delivered for £7.20 per litre.

To get the price I got I signed up as a member and then they sent me a 15% discount voucher too. Sounds like you are seeing the normal prices by your stated price.

I am another v happy Opie Oils customer. I saved about £120 buying oil from them and getting the Merc dealer to use my oil instead of theirs for the service of the GL320 and the CLK55.
