MHD burble issues?

I was scouring another forum and people seem to be having oil consumption issues
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42520

Now i'm worried if it's harmful to the car in the long run. Not worth it just for the cool sounds. I also have my cats in..

It seems his results are completely inconclusive.

In 1 aspect he says it may be causing it. He turns it off and it appears to go away.

Then he later turns the burble back on and all his problems went away.

What I think most people are finding is a COINCIDENTAL problem.

Kind of like the times we have people that install LED interior kits and there low beam goes out and try to blame us.

It's a coincidental problem that is unfortunately right at a questionable time.

Brought my C6Z in for trans service and my oil sender unit failed, completely coincidental.

If you are worried, turn it off, of course. Many cars come with fuel overrun from the factory though.

I have the PPK flash that added the burbles and oil consumption has not changed, it drank about a quart of oil between changes before and it's the same now.

Here is a video of a bone stock 2016 Jaguar F Type R.

Exhaust burbles galore from the factory. Had the pleasure of driving one over the summer.

I'm wondering if the overrun might have an adverse effect on the turbos. Continuing combustion moving out of the head and into the turbos might place additional stress on the turbine? Just a thought...

Yay! The MHD burble gets its own well-deserved thread. I've noticed no unusual oil consumption, nor anything else untoward. Settings are medium/5 s. duration.

That's what I thought at first, but reading through the thread it seems others are having similar issues, although some aren't. Maybe a case of YMMV.

So many people on this platform have pre-existing problems that they may not even know about. Then as soon as they change something and notice a problem, it's automatically direct cause.

Likely a case of YMMV as you said. The 335is and the PPK come with fuel overrun too if it's any consolation.

I haven't noticed anything so far. I've been using the burble setting since beta.

I have noticed a odd smell. I haven't added any mods or anything for the last 6 months. Also been problem free as well(knock on wood). Decided to try out the burble feature and within a day or so noticed a oil/ fuel smell.no oil consumption just smell. Again I haven't messed with anything else and I drive my car about 50 miles a week if that. Parked it in the garage, went back to the oem settings and been smell free. I'd say I have about 2700 miles on the mhd non burble flash and 50 miles on the burble flash settings.

Castless with turbo back exhaust, no resonators, just 2 mufflers. All gaskets and valve cover have under 5k on them. Turbos have close to 10k,valve seals where fine back when I had 86k when I did the turbos. All new index 12 injectors has less than 5k as well. Brand new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new vacuum lines, new boost solenoids.. Everything was replaced on this car lol
