Foxwell NT 510
Just checking if anyone can give me some information on the following fault codes
Last month my E90 320D was at the BMW service center and they told me no faults were present. This week I received the NT 510 so I went and performed a full vehicle scan, when completed there was 3 faults indicated in blue, and when I went to the fault codes they are all in red with not present after the fault code. Just curious what is going on here. |

Can I remove these old fault codes ?, I do not understand why BMW never cleared these codes if there was an actual fault after they sorted the issue. I am the 2nd owner and when I received the car I had BMW give me a print out on the cars history and none of these 3 faults show on warranty work that was performed.
Or Should I just leave things as they are. |

You can remove them with BMW spec equipment. I have no idea what this foxwell thing is or what it can do. Just buy a cheap DCAN cable and install BMW ISTA D (Rheingold). It will be far more powerful.

Yup, the foxwell can clear codes. It should be one of the softbuttons under the display in the screen where you have all the errors listed.

Gents I have just discovered the following when using this NT 510
When I try to connect to the OBD2 menu I am unable to access When I connect to the BMW menu I have no issues, and the information given on my vehicle is all correct. Today I contacted Foxwell and they told me due to my engine type it will not be possible to use the OBD2 menu. I am new to this scanner and just checking if I will be able to use the BMW menu to perform all the normal checks or will the scanner be of no use if I am unable to access the OBD2 menu |

FYI for anyone reading this post those blue faults are not faults. If you don't set your cars profile by VIN and chassis code the scanner will display all modules and options for that chassis. Items not present due to not being equipped from the factory will present like that on the scanner.
When you first set up a vehicle profile best bet is to use the VIN, enter the chassis E90 (or whatever is being scanned), then let the scanner search for what systems are present. Once the profile is done the scanner be much faster since it's only scanning systems that are actually present. Also don't forget to update your scanner to have access to all the newest features. They have lifetime free updates now, not sure I this applies to all devices or just the new ones being sold. I would imagine all NT 510's have the free lifetime updates now. |

On January 2016 the local BMW outlet ordered a power kit from Germany, one of the items that was changed was the ECU, so i am just wandering if my car that is a 2010 model and fitted with a 2016 ECU is compatible with the NT510 i purchased. |

hmmmm, can you scan it on the BMW section and it works as normal? have you tried changing the inspection date as a test? i did my oil change without using the scanner as thats how i thought it was meant to be done? or try view some live data too maybe, in the SERVICE section in the BMW part....
