5-Series Touring (G31) Renderings appear
BIMMERPOST NEWS 5-Series Touring (G31) Renderings appear Now that the G30 5-Series Sedan has been officially unveiled, cue the render artists to give us a glimpse into the future of the touring. The first set is from Theophilus Chin and there is no doubt the Touring's future for the 5-Series is bright, atleast outside the USA. This car will remain forbidden fruit for us it seems. The second rendering is by Jon Sibal which features a bit more of an aggressive car which has been lowered with some 666M wheels We've also included a render of a non-M Sport for an idea of the more typical family hauler. Well as we won't see them in North America I can just say that some european will be lucky to own them. Despite Mercedes brigning the E-class wagon and Volvo the V90 BMW don't see no market...

Beautiful wagon!
I have an E91 myself, but unfortunately in North America people don't like wagons. There seems to be a stigma against them. American auto makers probably ruined the whole genre with their horrible station wagons, but Americans make everything ugly. I wish people would just realize that and recognize European wagons for their beauty and practicality, etc... I would sell my house to buy an M3 wagon or even an RS4 avant if it ever came to Canada.
We're a little closer to European tastes in Canada, especially in Quebec, but there is a strong American influence that holds us back with respect to culture and design, NY being the only notable exception. Being an industrial designer myself, I wish things were a little different in North America... |
