Turbo Question

I am looking at an 08 335xi with 46k. I test drove it and it drove great. After the drive I opened the hood and of course the engine was clean (dealer). I did however notice a lot of oil build up on the intercooler pipe where it attaches to the turbo. What are the possible causes and should I be worried?

It might be the accessory belt that has oil on it spraying it around. If the belt has oil on it, replace it ASAP, usually either the oil filter housing gasket is leaking onto the belt, or it could be the valve cover. In some cases, myself included, the crank seal was leaking.

Probably valve cover gasket. Have them either drop the price or have them repair it before you purchase.
