TPMS

Hello,

I been looking around for TPMS, contacted a few companies and even called my dealer and check RealOEM.

for the f87 M2 RealOEM/dealer and few companies states 36106856209 as the part number for TPMS
Websites like TireRack/Ebay/amazon state the manufacture part # 981110000115985 for f87

Is there a difference between these 2? Clearly the prices are a huge difference between them, I spoke with 2 people from tirerack and they said that their part number is correct and that they sell the correct TPMS for M2.

Does anyone know or can clarify?

Thanks

Information I have found in other forums

They has recently been a lot of confusion on the new BMW models as to the correct part numbers. We have multiple reports of the dealership listing the wrong part even with a VIN look up. To be completely sure what your vehicle has we have a picture of the difference in the valve stem designs. It would be a good idea to check this against what the dealer has given you for a part number.

The Huf version covers the RDE012 (OE #36106790054, 36106856227, 36116856227) and RDE017 (OE #36106798872) and the VDO covers SE52056 (OE #36106856209, 36106855539, 36106858887, 36106858888)

Pictured here is the subtle difference in designs:

Correct TPMS part # is 36106856209. You can see in this link on RealOEM that it is the stock BMW TPMS sensor. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...28#36106856209

The other part number is most likely an after-market TPMS sensor used to save money.

Is there a way to test the sensor before I got to the trouble of paying to have it mounted with a tire? Base on the picture I got a VDO sensor from ECS tuning.

I bought some wheels from tire rack and also got the TPMS from them. I'm not sure if it's a BMW product but it works just like the ones on my stock wheels. Pressure and temperature
