Summer Tires with Long Lifetime

Do you guys have any recommendations for a summer tire with a high treadwear/lifetime? I don't foresee this car going to a track at all so I don't mind if it means giving up a little bit of performance for longevity.

Leaning towards getting a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW

I have had good luck with Kumho Ecsta all season tires.

MPSS can last a very long time. They have a 30k warranty for square and 15k for staggered. Conti DW don't last nearly as long as PSS. PSS are definitely worth the extra money.

I'd suggest something like a 245/40/18 square for your xi, you'll get a ton of life being awd.

Is it 30k for square because you can rotate them? I was curious to see if there are any alternatives for better lifetime.

Yes. 30k is a ton from a high performance tire... you won't find anything higher without sacrificing a ton of performance.

I am around 35k on my MPSS, my rears have a couple threads showing but that's due to my camber. I should be able to make it until I put my snows on.

I've had pretty good life with my Conti DWs. About to change the fronts and they have 45k miles. I change the rears once a year, about 15k miles.

In about a year, I drive around 26k miles commuting (15% locals, 85% highway). Once my squared stock runflats need to be swapped, I'm planning on making the swap to staggered go-flats + AAA. Keeping in mind that I only use this car for commuting - in your opinion/expertise, is the increased worth the $200 premium for the MPSS with the high mileage that I put on yearly?

I appreciate the help.

Are you running a squared setup on your xi?

I am 255/35/18 all around which I have loved. The last rotation and my negative camber was too much for the smallest section of tire. They are in the front now and I will probably run a little less camber on the next set.

Give us all of your alignment specs. I highly doubt that you're running THAT much camber to thread the inside of your tires.

I'm almost sure your findings are the result of toe, not camber.

I have 69k miles on my rear PSS and I got 45k out of the fronts(run flats, but fronts are not now). Rears are to the wear bars and will be switched to non-runflat PSS. Awesome tires and all I will use from now on unless I need even more traction. They are very good in that department too.

Square or staggered with your xi? That's really good mileage I think out of PSS from what I've seen.

I'm running nitto nt555 g2's, and they're great for a sumer tire that lasts a long time, I have 15k on mine, and 4 autocross events and they're still 2/3 tread. They're not the best for autocross, but street they're awesome
