Anyone considering a 2017 Mazda Miata RF?
Anyone considering the upcoming 2017 Mazda Miata RF as a cheap alternative to the M2? Or is that car too much of an embarrassment?
I really want a S55 M2 but not sure if that will happen next year. Thinking of maybe a Miata RF as a holdover until the S55 M2 comes out. |

An embarrassment? A Miata?
2300 lbs, literally over a half TON lighter, with the best manual box in the business and good handling and a short wheelbase. What's not to like? It's still my favorite car in urban/suburban areas. Not too powerful, but you can drive it pretty enthusiastically without going to jail. I smile every time I drive it. The only negative IMO, is it's a buzz bomb at interstate speeds...2 hours at 80mph is about my limit. M2 is awesome too, but bigger, more powerful, heavier, and quieter on the road. I really love the way the chassis communicates, but you'll need to take this one to the track to responsibly enjoy exploring its limits. Much better highway, and all weather car, too Really depends on what you want out of a car, but embarrassing is not a word I'd use for either of these. |
