How do you like my Ghetto-fabulous fix ?

2 of the 3 tabs connecting the wiring harness to the lower cabin air filter cover broke

What a crappy design !

Anyhow, it was just flopping around so I decided to make a cheap fix:

I drilled a hold in the lower cabin air filter cover and then used a zip tie to hold it in place.

What do you guys/gals think of my cheap fix ?

Better design than BMW does with plastic connectors that break all the time...

Do you have to buy every piece together? Where can it be purchased for $125?

Great job, zip ties are the modern version of duct tape.

Only down side is that if I need to do some work on the plugs/coils/injectors, I'll need to snip the zip ties.

However, zip ties are cheap

So I guess it's closer to $140 all in with the new cabin filter set.

[...you'll still need a couple of zip ties for the harness, but being able to access most everything without removing the cowl stuff is worth it]

I might buy these parts now. The seller I had lined up backed out/wanted to charge me more for everything than it costs new.

I considered buying a new lower cabin intake cover for like $85 but it would probably just break again. So why bother?

$85.00

Not worth it, it'll just break again.
