On the wheels above, I'd probably not go lower than 225/40R18. It's a bit possible that a 205/45R18 tire might fit, but probably would be too narrow for the 8.5" rim. You'll have to check the actual tire specs to find the rim size recommended. |

17" will fit but u have to make sure u get rims that will clear the bigger msport brakes... u r better off to get a cheap set of 17" rims and winter tires as the winter setup as there are limited availability of 18" tires that will fit... also u can go narrower tire and taller sidewall on the 17s

Your options are very limited if you want to go with the stock rear size, but that's what I ended up doing. I bought Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s in the stock sizes, 225/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear. They were something like $200 each for the fronts and $300 each for the rears. Ouch.
But I'm very happy with them so far. Handling in the dry isn't up to the level of my summer tires but still reasonably grippy, and they've done great in the couple times I've driven in not-deep snow since buying them. You can run the front 225/40-18 size front and rear without much trouble since the rear wheels are only 1/2" wider than the fronts even though the tires are meatier. It's cheaper and perhaps better in the snow, but my suspension is set up for staggered tires so I wanted to keep that handling balance. |

I'm running a square set of ASA 17" rims with Bridgestone Blizzak lm-25 RF winter tires. I will never buy Blizzaks again...unbelievably loud tires and no one is able to balance them properly. Pretty sure the tires simply have some sort of manufacturing defect. But they do very well though in the snow/ice/cold but that's about their only saving grace.

I've got 17x7.5 sport edition with 205/50/17 ice x3 on my 2010 and they are great in the snow night and day difference compared to all seasons.
They aren't loud but there is a step down in performance and traction in the dry with the narrow tires |

Tirerack sport edition 17s will clear 335i brakes. I have them on my car. 225/24/17 ET 32.
Keep an eye on craigslist. Wheels come and go pretty fast. https://chicago.craigslist.org/searc...inter&sort=rel |
