Introducing the BBS Motorsport RT88 for the M2!

Most fans of BBS wheels respect the brand not only for the exceptional build quality and forward thinking approach to engineering, but also for the rich racing history that the BBS brand represents. BBS’ racing heritage is second-to-none, with BBS introducing the first three piece racing wheel in 1972 and changing the industry forever as a result.

BBS’ multi piece motorsport wheels have evolved over the years to become stiffer, lighter, and better performing, but their signature appearance and gold finish has not changed. While many BMW owners have used genuine BBS Motorsport wheels over the years, sizing restrictions and the particular nuances of owning a true Motorsport product limit how many can own something like an E88. The multi-piece barrels have to be carefully assembled to seal properly, the components do not have the same corrosion resistant coatings as BBS road wheels, and the barrels are made as thin as possible to save every bit of available weight.

Earlier last year, BBS worked to bring the Motorsport look, feel, and heritage to the public by creating the RT88.

The RT88 wheel features a center engineered by BBS Motorsport, and is an updated version of the famous E88 Motorsport wheel. The barrel is the same one-piece barrel used on the famous LM wheel, and is known by all BBS fans as one of the strongest barrels on the market today. Together with titanium wheel bolts, these parts combine to give all BMW owners an opportunity to be part of BBS Motorsport history.

IND has worked closely with BBS to create a 19x9.5” square wheel size specifically for the M2. Enjoy the photos of the new M2 application RT88 wheels!

What size tire fits with these? 265 or 275? Curious if 275 clears

Our own M2 is using a 275 width front tire, with a camber plate. A 265 is possible also, and is still in range of the appropriate rolling diameter.

The RT88 wheel has a similar weight to the LM- 24lbs per 9.5" wheel.

The RT88 wheels will sell at a $5,980 MSRP in M2 sizing. As always, BimmerPost members can contact IND for package pricing.

These wheels are sized 19x9.5" at all four corners. We're using a 275 with tire all around for a very neutral handling feel.
