Engine sometimes shakes car on 1st startup.....

I have about 800 miles on my 2017 M240i and I have noticed from Day 1 that occassionally on morning startups the engine would shake the car for a second or 2 before it settles at idle.

Anyone experience this ????

Yes. My car (2017 M240i) does that too.

VANOS on cold starts? Mine's been doing this since the start (both 2015 and 2016 models) and even my 2011 Z did this. No issue that I know of.

My 2015 235 engine doesn't shake at all on start-up.
I feel a pulse, not something I would describe as a vibration, as it settles to its 750rpm idle. but might just be exhaust pulses.

I had this same issue on my 2009 335i and 2016 M235i. I started using clean, higher octane fuel (94 octane here in Canada) and it went away. Hope this helps.

Mine does it fairly often on startups too... I have read that it is normal due to the low rpm idle.
