Rail X10 18x8 winter tires
For my winter tires (Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3), I wanted a set of OEM wheels, but couldn't find a used pair in the condition that I wanted -- so I went with Rail X10 wheels.
They are 18x8 with 225/45 rubber. Unfortunately, that leaves NO protection if you accidentally scrape a curb. So I'm nervous about that. But I love the stock look -- and with the BMW center caps only a BMW aficionado would really know the difference. The Sottozero 3 tires are pretty great -- they have performed marvelously so far, although there is a little more tread noise than I'd like. But ride, wet traction, dry traction, and turn-in are very good -- as is snow and ice performance. I've had Blizzaks and xIce tires and the past, and they were too extreme for what I needed 99% of the time -- and too squishy with latent turn-in response. So I went with a more performance oriented snow tire. But I didn't get the run flat version (they offer one, but I did't want it -- I just carry a pump and repair kit with me). For anyone considering this combo, I'd recommend it. Thought I'd post some pics so you could see how they look, in case it helps with your purchasing decision. |

those look awesome! remind me of the F12 wheels (style 373)
to give a lil protection i went to a 235/45/18 and will never look back.
