440i xdrive on 20 inches wheels
Hey guys,
Was wondering if the ride will be tremendously affected if I put on 20 inches wheels. I live in Montreal, Canada and the streets conditions aren't the best tbh. I was considering installing the h&r springs with spacers (I read 18 and 12 front are recommended). I was thinking about getting these wheels: https://www.carid.com/lexani-wheels/...-88834690.html They recommend 8.5 x 20 for the front and 10 x 20 for the back. What do you guys think, any recommendations? Any input would be appreciated! I don't want to go extreme, just a nice drop with nice wheels. |

Are you planning to use 20" wheels during the summer only with a dedicated wheel / tire set during the winter (18" or 19" wheels)?

Great decision to use 19" wheels during the winter. 18" wheels are even better with higher sidewall tires.
I would not recommend lowering the vehicle with 20" wheels using H&R Springs. Stiffer springs with softer shocks on xDrive vehicles are likely to produce a bouncy ride. The Suspension forum has many threads discussing this topic. Do you want to lower the vehicle for cosmetic purposes? During the winter, lower ground clearance may not be helpful with all the snow Montreal usually receives. I have been to Montreal many times. |

Living in Montreal and driving on lowered cars with 18's, 19's and 20s, don't do 20's! The ride isn't comfortable, even with KW's. The tire profiles are too low to absorb anything. 19's look great and offer the best ride quality!
