DSC Question

When I completely turn dsc off the throttle response seems to go into sport or comfort. When I put it back in sport plus the dsc goes back into mdm mode.
Is there a way to keep sport plus throttle response while having the dsc completely off?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the answer is no, you can't keep it in sport plus throttle response with DSC completely off.

Apparently Sport+ is MDM mode but without the exhaust burbles.

Transition mode is MDM with sport throttle response and exhaust burble.

I have not found a way to have both. I guess we needed to buy an M4 for M1 & M2 customisation

Oh well!!! Not the end of the world. I was practicing launches in sport plus and the stability control was very intrusive(manual transmission).
Had an M4 previously. Not my cup of tea.
Thanks for the replies

Are you guys sure? I thought you could go to sport + first and then hold down the DSC button to completely turn it off but keep the throttle mapping in sport +?

Yes unfortunately. The way I noticed it was, while I was driving in sport plus at a constant speed I would press the DSC button to completely turn off traction control. You will feel the car de-tune like you were taking the car out of sport plus and putting it back into sport or comfort while the DSC remains off. Kind of stinks.

Short press of the traction button enables MDM but some traction control is still on. To be honest even in 'traction' mode the nannies are still too intrusive for my taste.

Long press will completely disable traction control. But the M2 has a lot of mechanical grip so will still 'correct' itself and you really need to do something stupid to come unstuck. You can't argue with physics

Seems to me that no matter what mode the car is in, a long press of the traction control button will place it in sport mode with no nannies. Wish sport+ could be maintained, but it appears not. Is this the "race" mode previously referenced? Or is that simply sport+? Seems to be slightly limited in terms of modes with regards to traction on/off....

If you code the car to switch from US MDM to the euro one you can run sport plus with much less intrusion....it's not a perfect solution but it help a lot.

I feel like a short press of the traction button puts the throttle into comfort which is painfully slow response. Is it just me?

Sport + really just remaps the throttle to give you more at smaller initial inputs. This is mostly useful/noticeable down low in the rev band and at slower speeds. But ultimately WOT is still just WOT. No 'extra'. The most likely time you'd be turning everything off would be on the track. And there you'd be using the upper RPM almost exclusively. And for the times you wouldn't, you'd want a very nice modular pedal. Something you do not get with the Sport+ mapping.

I don't get why people like sport+ throttle mapping. It is way too sensitive and ultimately gives zero extra power.

I drove an old 530i as a loaner car yesterday while my resonator delete pipe was getting installed. The throttle response was incredible. I got back in my M2 and sport/sport + felt like mush.
At first I actually thought there was something wrong with the car-lol.
...and the Dinan Pipe didn't properly fit and they had to weld it in. I should probably start another thread about that! The shop staff was very surprised-they said the Dinan parts usually fit perfectly.

One more question to double check this.

Is there as way to combine Sport mode (so auto rev match is ON) + limited traction control in the same time?

That would be Sport+

Isn't Sport+ turning the rev match off?

Rev match stays on in sport + and every mode including comfort. It only goes off when you turn DSC all the way off. (long press)
