245 tire on 8" rim?

I'm getting 400m wheels (18x8) for my base model 2014 328i. I'm considering putting 245 40 r18 tires instead of the oem size of 225 45 r18. I'm doing it mostly for the beefier look, though theoretically grip should be better, too...

Anyone who's done this? What do you think in terms of fitment and performance?

Thanks!!

Thanks. Is there significant "bulge" of the side walls, or do they go close to vertical from the edge of the wheels? I know the 225s on the 8" wide wheels look all flush/vertical with the wheels but haven't seen how the 245s look.

Even 225s I find bulge a little. 245s will look like balloons on an 8" wheel. It all depends on your definition of 'beefier'. I think they will look more soccer mom. But if you have the tendency to ride up the curb when parallel parking it might be a good idea?
