Harness for M2

I'm looking for a harness for my 2017' M2. I don't want to install a bar. Looking for something that can lock into the rear seat infrastructure, that can be easily installed and removed. Ideas?

Schroth QuickFit for an E82/E92 fits, but you have to mod the bolt covers for the outboard front anchors a bit...

These look like they'd be a lot more comfortable than the stock belt. I'm short and stocky, the belt digs into my neck

Are these 100% safe to use on stock seats and without a bar? I recall reading something on the S4 forums a while back that these can actually be more dangerous than the standard belts

They were designed specifically to be used as mounted in my posting above with no bar. Take a look at the schroth site.

Anyone know if these quick fits are HANS compatiable?

Is the E82/E92 the same model?

Their website and packaging implies this is indeed the case.

This is SO dangerous. Darwin awarding winning stuff! Do not use over the shoulder harnesses with a reclining seat! Especially one not designed for them....

I thought this too until Pyrat 2 post about his harness and I called Schroth.

I feel their web site does not explain the belts well. Part of the ASM technology is a special stitch in the right (?) belt that tears when force is applied (e.g. accident), creating slack in the one belt and allowing the body to rotate similar to a normal three point belt. This avoids the roll over roof crushing spine scenario.

Additionally, these are not the same as routing a normal 5/6 point harness. Normal belts need to be used w/a harness bar or better roll cage.

The Schroth Quick Fit belts (Pro and regular) that were designed for the E82/E92 may fit M2 but Schroth has not tested them w/the M2 and therefore they will not "recommend" them.

Only the Schroth Quick Fit Pro is designed to work with the Hans device not the "regular" version.

I'm planning to purchase a set of the Schroth Quick Fit Pro for autocross.

Not sure I understand. These harnesses were made for this by design. The e82/92 fitment also has reclining seats. Recommend you look at the scroth site and talk to them. These harnesses were designed not to be used with a bar.

When I talked with them they specifically stated they were not designed (i.e. not tested with a bar) to be used with a bar.

I have these harnesses in my E46; used them all the time on the Nürburgring.

But I've heard most tracks in the states won't allow 4-point harnesses??

Never heard this. I've not had an issue. These are even DOT legal.

Anyone know if the Schroth belts are identical across car models except for the mounting tabs / buckles?

I have a set of QuickFit Pro in my TTRS. I have a deposit down for an M2. If I can just buy new "tails" for the QF Pro that attach to the M2, that saves a ton of money on new harnesses... (I can always turn around and sell the ones from the TT, but that's a hassle I'd love to avoid.)

I'm also kind of surprised that Schroth hasn't moved to using the LATCH loops to attach the belts in the rear. Instead of having to bend tabs and bolt the "tails" into the factory bolt points, they could use something like an actual climbing carabiner (screws shut) to clip onto the LATCH hooks. Unless those aren't rated for the force/mass of an adult since they're usually designed for child seats... I dunno.

I found that belt lengths differed greatly between e90 vs. e92.

Obviously you don't want to skimp here, perhaps you should ask Schroth what leverage you can realize.
