Mrs Creepy is into Mini's. Ooi matron. She doesn't like the styling of the 1 series.

I completely get it and would buy with no hesitation if they were cheaper

It's pretty I must say

What's it like on longer journeys? Could you spend a couple of hours in it?

Looks great. The 3 door hatch is the only good looking Mini, the other body styles range from a bit ugly to hideous to abominations.

No problem. Drove it back from swindon. 2 hours non stop. It has adaptive dampers. Seats are superbly comfy. They're the lounge leather type, not the JCW bucket type. Road noise on the rough tarmac is fairly loud. Not helped by having runflats

Just had a look at the engine in the JCW ...
Is it the same engine thats in the 328i albeit slightly de-tuned to 236hp.
Find it amusing that so many slag the 328i off?

Pretty much. I understand the JCW has different pistons, turbo and manifold to the Cooper S. Not sure if they are the same as already fitted to the 328i. Because the Mini only weighs 1250 KG. I lifts its skirt pretty well.

Slagging things off seems to be the general tone of the forum of late, loved my 328i and sometimes regret selling it.

Me too - I thought the 328i was great. Whilst it wasn't as smooth as a 335i, and didn't give the pop and crackle sounds, it could be very economical when driven sympathetically and very quick when not.
