So far I have updated twice and bought a code online from a third party seller, but I was surprised to see when I logged in to Connected Drive that I can apparently buy 24 months of map updates for £70 from the official site. I thought it was around £200 per update, or something a little mad, but apparently not.

It is listed as USB Map Update (my car is pre-LCI so can't do OTA Update) 24 months £69.95.

Are BMW becoming more sensible or has this been available for ages, and I just missed it?

Thats not bad! It works out at about £17.50 per update as they usually release two updates per year I believe. Thats cheaper than most third party sites.

I think I used the same site for the map downloads, but I bought FSC codes in the past - something I probably won't do again if BMW are being sensible.

I appreciate that there is a way of generating your own code.
