Paint and track days?

Wondering how the paint is holding up? Some have said it seems that the paint on the M2 chipping easy. I am thinking about getting XPEL Ultimate but not sure. Thanks!

Paint and track days

I would get at least the front facia and headlights done or you will probably be sorry if you track the car very much.http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/ima...ilies/wink.gif

I have only done one autocross day but because I live in AZ and we have little rocks flying all over the place on the highway I had the entire front of my car plus the rockers and a larger area in front of the rear wheels covered in Xpel ultimate. Within 48 hours of having it done a rock came off a flat bed tow truck and hit the front of my car and skipped across the hood. I was very happy to have it protected.

Yeah in hindsight i would expel the bumper and mirror caps. I have a black car. Lots of rock chips already after one track day. Oh well.

I would recommend something to protect the paint on the track. I didn't want to spend money on Xpel so I could spend it on future track items (tires, pads). So i use traktape and it works really well. My last event I taped up the hood, bumper and fenders partially. Worked as advertised. Unfortunately they don't make traktape for the windshield because I obtained a chip that then turned into a foot long crack by the end of the event.
