Crossfit Games

Anyone doing this?

At 41 I should know better. 17.1 nearly finished me off but completed. This could be a very very very very slow thread....but I'll throw it out there...

https://games.crossfit.com/workouts/...orkout_type=rx

Much tougher than it looks/reads!

17.2 Announced last night not much better...16 Muscle Ups FFS!

Anyway best of luck anyone out there.......

My brothers doing it. Last workout was dumbbell snatch and burpees wasn't it?

He's got a gym in his garage so I go round once or twice a week for a bit of crossfit but I'm nowhere near fit enough (or strong enough) to compete.

I'm still not entirely convinced by the whole crossfit thing, pushing myself to the absolute limit just doesn't seem fun to me

Yup for sure it was a lot of snatch and over box burpees. Bit of a weird one really.

Well I finally finished its Week 5 (17.5 as they call it) this week. (I'll wait till all scores are in an feedback, it wont be great but I'd be pleased with top half).

FFS, its basically a mental illness to want to be this fit.

I FREAKING LOVE IT.

If you in any way like fitness you need to look this stuff up. My running has come on leaps and bounds. This weekend 'just because' I went on a 10 miler, no drama that's not exactly impressive...but I took along a 10kg weighted vest....and a 2L Camebak (I think I looked a bit 'bomber' ish!) 1hr27m all in, which kept all the miles on the 8minSomehting bracket and actually beat some Strava PBs from non vest runs!

Insane. I also ran the mid section 7 miles each within 6 seconds of the same pace....metronimic!

Ok my back slapping is done, sorry, but the point of the post is ..... don't wait like me till your 40's to discover this, if you want to move on your fitness for ANY SPORT investigate CrossFit, the mental strength you gain alone will not let you quit at goals.

Excellent well done with that.

I am sort of doing that in reverse, I did that type of stuff from 16 to 48, had a few years off and restarting it again in next week or so.

Trying to find a decent gym in Wolverhampton (where you can park and not have it nicked or keyed) has been fun lol.

They've certainly taken it to a level of razamataz. What do you mean by who is on the best gear though? Kit? Or 'juiced' ?
