Just a thought... 245's on 9.5" rim... experts weigh in
Just a thought here.... I have a F33 x-drive with Bilstein B14's soon to be installed (with a moderate drop, not slammed). I plan on buying 433 reps. and am still unsure on tires. It came with 225/45/18 square and since I'm x-drive and use the car as my everyday driver, I do not want to go staggered and have transfer case issues. My original plan was to go with 245/35/19 square and 19x8.5 et35 all around and add spacers if I wanted. BUT, I like the deeper concave on the 19x9.5 et37 wheels (that are meant for the rear). What are your thoughts on that 9.5 on the front??? Will it fit??? Will it rub??? I'm thinking it'll fit with that offset but am unsure. Also, I know 255/35/19 are better for the 9.5, but technically I hear a 245/35/19 will fit the 9.5. What do you think about a 245/35/19 with a 9.5??? Thought's????

245 fits best on 8.5". on 9.5" it'll be a 1" stretch. the min i would go is 255 on 9.5 (1/2" stretch) i like square setups, especially for x-drive, however in your situation i think you're better off going staggered with 19x8.5 235/40/19 (little less than 26.4 dia. due to 1/2" stretch) up front and 19x9.5 265/35 (perfect fit) 26.26" dia. in the rear. the difference about 0.5% so you should not have transfer case issues. however i can't guarantee any of this with 100% certainty. Thanks for the advice. As you said, there shouldn't be issues, but it's not guaranteed. That's why I'd just rather stay square. If it wasn't an issue at all, I'd go 235/35/19 with 19x8.5 up front and 275/30/19 with 19x9.5 in the rear. They are equal diameter. Theoretically, there should be no issue with that setup, but I've read that some guys have had transfer case issues (not initially) but even up to a year after switching to staggered (jerky acceleration, lights coming on). Could it not have been caused by the staggered setup, maybe, but I'm not looking to take the chance.
