not much oil in there it looks like mostly water/fuel.

seems like the pcv system is doing its job very well, I assume this is on the high load side only?

The need for an OCC is minimal on the B58 and this just confirms it. while it has collected a little bit of oil I wouldn't say this is a must have.

I kind of had a feeling it wasn't a necessary mod in this car but I guess only time will truly tell.

I would have rather they invested time fab'ing a Turbo inlet pipe that worked with their intake gat deleted that dumb factory intake helmholtz resonator.

It's a mix of water/oil. In the cold months that's normal. In warmer months it will just be oil. Its preventative maintenance in my eyes. It's such a cheap mod that it's a no brainer. I definitely recommend it for guys running meth.

Not sure I want that gunk hitting my intake valves or jamming up my intercooler. I agree with PeterA90, it seems like it might be cheap preventive maintenance. How much is BMW getting for a Walnut Blast these days?

Regardless whatever it caught it's doing its job. Oil has anti octane properties. Also, if you plan on keeping the car it's a no brainer. People spend 3k and up for rims but 199 will set them back lol. Walnut blasting depends on the shop... 300-600. Maybe more not sure.

It's not just $199 as it doesn't work without the BMS intake so those of us that don't want there intake are out of luck. Main reason I don't like it. I hope someone else releases one tho as I don't think it's a must have but I would like to have one just to be on the safe side and I'm. running out of mods to do lol.

You can always get the eventuri intake as it will allow room to mount in the same place.

Hopefully it will fit around the Eventuri as that's what I plan on getting when it's released next month.

I personally wouldn't play with the pcv system. it seems it's miles ahead of the problematic n54 system and even better then the improved system in the n55.

carbon buildup I dare say will be insignificant on the b58 - based on the improvement made from n54 -> n55.

Walnut blasts are up to about $1250 now so, yeah, this makes it an easy kill.
