New clutch...mpg dropped

Im fairly new here so I apologize if this is a stupid question but...
I just had my clutch replaced and when I got the car back I noticed by gas mileage in general has dropped horribly !!

Example..."124km to empty".....I drive around my neighbourhood to do some arrands lets say about 10km and then it shows "85km to empty". And it keeps dropping significantly.

Any help would be appreciated ?

Miles/KM to empty is a calculation based on recent driving activity.

It would be better to take an average (by hand) over the entire tank. Fill it up, drive it down, and measure KM per L (or mpg). Compare this to your previous notes, if you have them.

Ok thanks, i will give that a try.. And ive taken that into consideration it's just that I am the only driver and my driving habits don't really change. Also this is the first time that Miles / kilometers to empty has dropped so significantly I just thought it was directly related to the recent clutch change, because nothing else really changed

Did they disconnect the battery while replacing the clutch? Maybe the counter reset and took your instant MPG/KPL and has not had enough time to average out.

PMessinis To clarify: djh2 gave advice that you may or may not be using.

PMessinis First, be consistent in message. Are you reading kms and Litres OR Miles and gallons?

Here's my take: 1) Fill tank - do NOT over fill. 2) Take receipt. Write down total mileage (or km) of your car on the receipt. 3) Reset trip meter to zero.

Drive car for few days. Depending on your driving circumstances, drive to consume at least half to three-quarters of the tank.

4) RE-Fill tank - do NOT over fill. 5) Take receipt. Write down total mileage (or km) of your car on the receipt. Write down trip meter reading on receipt.

Get the picture? We're doing it "ol' school" way. Math with pencil and paper. We're gonna ignore the digital readout.

Post your results, . .

Sorry for the confusion...my dash reads "kms to empty" but when I press the BC button its set to "mpg" thats why I referred to both.

I appreciate the advice and will do as suggested

Thank you !

Sorry, its not my daily driver....and now the belt slipped off the pulley so haven't had much driving time with it to fully crunch those numbers.

Ok, belt and pulley have been replaced. Ive been driving it for a couple days now with a fresh tank of 94. Everything with the mileage seems to be back to normal.
