HJS Catted Downpipe

Has anyone had trouble passing CA emissions with catted down-pipes using HJS 300? It is EURO-6 compliant. A mechanic-friend told me that does not mean it will pass CA emissions. I would like to get a catted down-pipe but not if it can't pass stringent emissions testing which begs what is the point then?

any cat modification will not pass. usually people need a tune to show readiness but not have a CEL for an OBD test, but you are going to still have more pollution coming out even if it's catted, because the cat has less material in it.

HJS is EURO6 compliant. Do you mean there are no sport/hiflo catted downpipes that is CARB legal?

Here is where it gets tricky ... Just because a downpipe passes emission does not mean it is compliant.

In order for it to be compliant, it has to have Carb approval. I am not aware of any aftermarket downpipe that has a Carb EO

Are you saying passing emissions is different from getting a Carb stamp of approval for a product?
I am just looking to pass CA level emissions testing.

Just because a product passes emission does not mean it is Carb approved.
Take for example non-approved intakes. Car will still pass emission, but if you get caught you will be fined for using a non-carb legal product
