Stealership coil issue

Guys,

Just got out of the dealer for one of my coils misfiring. Its a 2008 and still have my extended warranty. They charged a total of 340$ for my coil. Diagnostic and labour is 1.2 hours. Is this normal? Doesnt it take 30 mins to do this job? Its not rocket science!! My extended warranty paid 290$ but the rest i had to pay since they go with what is the job supposed to cost. I've done coils with them in the past and don't remember being this high. Am i missing something!!

Um, actually no I don't think you're missing anything. I had extended warranty and still got charged $50 fee for vcg replacement, then again for the ofhg replacement. Can't remember the exact name of what they called it, same thing for if you have to get a new cell phone to replace your broken one...still pay $100 you know. It's more like an insurance thing, but w/e was still cheaper than parts alone if I diy. But for a coil/plugs...little shit next time just go about it yourself, get all 6 done right the first time around.

I believe there's a standard $50 deductible for work done under warranty. A friend of mine had his whole engine replaced under warranty, $23k worth of parts and labor... all he had to pay was the first $50 as the deductible

You're missing actually reading what you purchased, the extended warranty.

Just changed one of my coils and it was exactly 4 minutes diagnostic, 5 minutes replacement.

Guys I specifically took 0$ deductible. I really dont think it takes that long 1.2hours.

I wanted to know, what is written in an official book the correct labour time?

maybe this is a conversation you should of had with the dealer then...

Totally confused now, what did you pay 50 bucks for then?

No obviously as NGEE stated it does not take 1.2 hours (maybe you should 'appreciate' his post ) lol but a dealer will charge you min 1 hour to vacuum your carpets or w/e the hell they're doin.
