Same car but feels way different

Hey guys so my sister and I both have 2007 328i's mine is sport with 60k miles and hers is the base model with a little over 100k miles. Last week I drove her car for a little while and for some reason in her car the shifts feel much smoother and way more responsive then in my car, seems to pick up quicker as well. When I bought mine it was bone stock and when she got hers it seemed to be slightly modded nothing crazy just tints, plasti-dipped rims and coded out the seat belt chimes. I know this is a dumb question but does anyone know what the previous owner could have done to her car. Maybe a software chip or something different to the engine. Also idk if the the previous owner is still on here but the car is white/beige and was purchased in PA. I appreciate any input, thanks.

If there is no bolt-on differences (headers, intake etc) then it's only tune that can be different. Also, are you sure you both have exactly same engines? It could be you have SULEV n51 and she has n52 - her engine may be slightly more responsive, especially if tuned

Yeah there are no bolt ons that are noticeable and I thought SULEV was only on lci not pre-lci. Also how can you tell the difference between the n51 and n52 engines

As stated above - use VIN to decode your car. However, I have SULEV and my 328 is pre LCI

Is her car n52 too? If yes, then her's probably tuned/flashed - the only explanation I can think of

Or transmission adaptions. If you put both in sport mode can you tell the difference?

most likely it could be due to a strong engine/transmission.

has she recently changed transmission fluid on her car? this can help transmission response.

I had an 07 base model way back in 07 and I can tell you this. If you are in NJ than both cars have the N52. I don't think N51 was available in 07 models. As far as transmissions go you both have a GM, in non-turbo cars the ZF was only used in the 325 and 330.
I traded my car in modded and as many other people have so don't surprised if her car is tuned. Dealer gave me a very good trade in price and I didn't feel like stripping the car back down so someone got lucky when they got mine.
Who ever got my car got the following
Xenons with white halos
Perf exhaust
Tune and 3 stage manifold plus euro intake
H&R touring cup suspension
Tints

See if hers has 3 stage intake manifold. If the car was previously modded, then most likely previous owner may have done that mod. Look on the intake side and see if there is a "box" looking thing sticking from the side of it. Also, check if her has charcoal filter removed. 3im is stock BMW part and will not look out of place.
This is how 3im looks when installed.

There are so many different variables that can impact this...

-tune up parts
-vehicle alignment
-brakes dragging?
-tire pressure
-timing
-fuel injector spray pattern (cleanliness)
-throttle inputs
-transmission adaptations
-exhaust restrictions from cat converters going bad
-engine wear
-ambient temperature

The exact same vehicles can be different performance wise depending on the condition of the drivetrain and other factors.

Example: I own a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ with the 4.0 inline six. A friend of mine also has a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. Both were stock, both had about the same mileage and were in good shape. Mine would smoke his at stop lights. From driving both, mine just feels stronger. We've done a tune up on his, some performance mods (which helped) but in the end I think his just has a bit more wear.

This! I was amazed at how much better brake pedal feel is with stiffer shoes.

Shoes are for suckers. The real difference is in the socks. Use Nike Pure Performance line socks for the best $/hp ratio.

OP, just line them up and run 'em together. Separate drives at separate times isn't going to tell you anything besides maybe your butt-dyno needing recalibrated.
