Armrest Delete?
Hey guys,
Anyone know of any sort of armrest delete or a slim downed M3 gts version for the armrest? All I'm finding are the euro armrest delete options for the e46, and the $1600 alcantara covered piece of cardboard for sale like the GTS has. I never drive with my armrest down as it just gets in the way of me shifting, and I like my driving position right where it's at now...thanks.

It would probably be easiest to have something fabricated and wrapped in alcantara like the GTS delete panel. I can't imagine it being difficult to make a template yourself and mock it up, then wrap and install it with screws or double sided tape. I've never seen anything official for the E9X other than the GTS delete.

I saw this thread awhile ago that this guy made a slimmed down arm rest for his f80. Here is the thread so you can check it out. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=20248518

It looks like its a certain type of wood?? Shit I'm excited for this one Will be making something like this asap when I get back home, thinking of adding blue match stitching to match the M performance wheel? What do you guys think? I have alcantara M stitched shift and e-brake boots along with the wheel though so not sure if that would clash or look dumb right next to them...

[QUOTE=BdSM n54iS;21438163] Do you by chance know what 'MDC' is?
I believe he meant MDF. It's a type of composite wood which is good for projects like this because of how well you can shape it. You can buy some at home depot, lowes, etc Curious to see how this project turns out for you!! |

Me too, I'm super excited for this little project!! I'm searching now to buy a dremel 4000 and some quality alcantara (or ultrasuede). I have material that I used for my rear seat delete which I *think is ultrasuede. I'll have to go back and double check, if not I'm looking at a few shops now to purchase that as well. Thanks again for the link! I have an extra idea or 2 floating around the ole noggin right now...open to suggestions from others as to color/stitching options also
